Anorexia Affected Dana Delaney's Acting Career

Actress Dana Delaney struggled with anorexia in her teenage years, which she claims ruined her acting career.

“When I was a teenager and in my 20s, I had eating issues,” she said.
“I binged, I starved. I was one step away from anorexia — a piece of toast and an apple would be all I’d eat in a day.

“My life got interesting and I stopped focusing on eating.

“Part of it was doing China Beach. I needed to have energy to work those long hours, and so I started eating more healthily.”

“I don’t like meat, so I don’t eat it.

“I just prefer vegetables, tofu and fish. And recently, I was told by my endocrinologist that I am gluten intolerant. I’m not supposed to eat bread or pasta, which is really hard when you don’t eat meat. But I’m trying gluten-free pasta and bread.

“I have a piece of dark chocolate every day as my little reward. I love Vosges Haut-Chocolat – oh my God, they have the most delicious flavors!”

Allegra Versace Speaks About Her Days Of Darkness Including Anorexia

Daughter of Donatella Versace, Allegra Versace, spoke out about her struggle with her public persona and an eating disorder.

In a rare interview with La Republica (via DailyMail), she said:

'I call this my period of absence, I was lost in other thoughts and
couldn’t confront reality, with my eyes shielded from everything.

'Above all, I wanted one thing - to be no one, to not be recognised, not be hunted down.

'I studied theatre, and it pleased me greatly to play parts in little independent films that perhaps no one went to see…

'Still, anywhere I went, I was Versace. I couldn't escape, and it did me harm. I hated Los Angeles.

Keira Knightley covers Allure magazine, opens up about body issues. “I knew I wasn’t anorexic, but…”

“I knew I wasn’t anorexic. But maybe my body is somehow not right. Or my face is not right. Or the way I speak is not right. When you’re going through a period where you’re really getting a lot of criticism, you go, ‘Maybe all this is right!’ You just kind of want to hide it all,” she explained.

Rumors that Knightley suffers from anorexia have plagued her for years, and it’s far from the first time she has addressed the rumors.

“Hollywood is all about the way you look, and I don’t think that’s the healthy thing for anyone. But, if you’re strong and comfortable with yourself, then you’re going to be fine,” she told People in 2006. “[The press] said to me yesterday ‘How does it feel to be called anorexic?’ and I had no idea that I was. I’m not saying there aren’t people in the film industry that suffer from it, because I am sure that there are. But I’m quite sure I don’t have it.”

Khloe Kardashian Anorexic At 15

Khloe has spoken out about her eating problems in the past, admitting that when she was 15 she suffered from anorexia.

“I was anorexic when I was 15 — I’d be obsessed with working out, and I’d never eat,”

She’s lost a lot of weight since the beginning of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ and credits QuickTrim to her success. Who knows if Khloe actually followed QuickTrim or has just been paid millions to credit the product for her weight loss. She’s said to do 45 minutes of exercise per day and has changed her eating habits.

Demi Lovato Criticizes Disney Channel Over Anorexia Joke

Lovato – who earlier this year spoke about her own battle with bulimia – issued a serious of incredulous tweets after catching a repeat episode of Shake It Up. The offending remark came from an actress playing a supermodel, who told characters Rocky, played by 15-year-old Zendaya Coleman and Cece (14-year-old Bella Thorne): ‘I could just eat you up, well if I ate.’

Demi – who quit Disney show Sonny With a Chance earlier this year to battle her own problems in rehab, fired a furious tweet saying: ‘I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actresses from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about that very disease….. #nice.’ She also questioned: ‘What are we promoting here? #notfunnyATALL.’

Disney quickly responded, also via Twitter, stating it was pulling two episodes of the show and apologised for the offence caused.

No Weight Scale For Demi Moore While In Rehab

“It’s common treatment practice at Cirque to not allow patients that are being treated for an eating disorder to see how much they weigh when they step on the scale. Their weights are taken everyday, sometimes several times a day to make sure that they aren’t losing weight while in treatment. Doctors at Cirque don’t want patients to fixate on their weight.

“Demi isn’t being forced fed or chastised for not wanting to eat. The counsellors at Cirque are working on giving Demi a safe and controlled environment, she is getting the best care possible. She is also dealing with an addiction to prescription medication, and she has a comprehensive team taking care of her.”
